About Pipe Well Plumbing

We book appointments, not leads. We do the advertising, answer the calls, qualify the job and set the appointment — you just show up and do the plumbing. Joining is free. We are paid 50% of the job after your documented materials, and only after the customer has paid you.

The short version

Pipe Well Plumbing advertises to homeowners who need a plumber. We answer the phone, qualify the job, and book a real appointment with a date, a time window and an address. Then we text that appointment to one licensed plumber whose service area covers it. That plumber replies YES, gets the full customer details, does the work, and collects payment directly from the homeowner.

We are paid after that. Our share is 50% of the job after your documented material costs come off the top, due within 48 hours of the customer paying you. If the customer never pays, we are owed nothing.

That is the entire business. There is no subscription, no signup fee, no per-lead charge and no plan tier.

We handle everything except the plumbing

This is the part that separates us from a lead service, so it is worth spelling out. A lead company hands you a name and a phone number and the work starts there — you call, you chase, you sell, you schedule, you hope. We do all of that before you ever hear about the job.

What lands on your phone is a booked appointment: name, address, time window, and what is wrong. Not a lead. Not a contact to chase. Not a form fill that three other shops also bought. You reply YES and you have a job on the calendar.

You still set your own price and collect from the homeowner yourself — we never touch the customer's money, and we do not tell you what to charge.

Why we built it this way

The plumbing trade already has plenty of ways to buy contact information. You can pay $40 to $85 for a shared lead that three or four other shops bought at the same moment, race everyone to the phone, and lose most of them. You can pay more for an exclusive lead and still find the homeowner was price-shopping. Either way the platform is paid the moment the lead is delivered, whether you win the job or not.

That is the part we thought was backwards. The company doing the marketing has no financial stake in whether the work actually happens. So every incentive points at selling more leads rather than booking more jobs.

We took the opposite position: we are paid nothing until you are paid. If we book you a job that falls apart, we lose the marketing money we spent to get it. That means we only want to send you work that is real, scheduled, and likely to close — because that is the only way we get paid at all.

How the money actually works

The formula is one line:

(amount you collected − your documented materials) × 50%

Materials need a receipt or supplier invoice uploaded with the job. Undocumented materials are not deducted, so keep the supply house paperwork. Labor, overhead, truck, fuel, insurance and taxes are not deducted — those come out of your half, the same way our advertising, call answering and dispatch come out of ours.

Job collectedDocumented materialsNetPipe Well 50%You keep
$400$40$360$180$220
$1,200$520$680$340$860
$2,800$800$2,000$1,000$1,800
$8,500$3,200$5,300$2,650$5,850

Look at the $8,500 row and be honest with yourself about it. That is a $2,650 share on one job. On big-ticket work our model is expensive, and we say so on every page of this site. Run your own numbers on the cost per booked job calculator before you decide.

What we are not

What we require from plumbers

Every plumber is verified before a single appointment is sent. We ask for:

Licensing rules differ enormously by state. Some states license individual journeymen, some license only contracting businesses, and a handful — Missouri, Nebraska, New York, Pennsylvania, Wyoming and Kansas among them — have no statewide plumbing license at all and leave it to cities and counties. We track the board, the license classes and the renewal rules for every state so we know what to ask for and what is even possible where you work.

How an appointment reaches you

  1. A homeowner calls us or fills out the booking form on our site.
  2. We qualify the job — what is wrong, where it is, when they are available, and whether it is real work rather than a price-shopping call.
  3. We book a scheduled appointment with a date and a time window.
  4. Our system matches the address against every verified plumber whose ZIP and radius cover it, and sends a text to the best-rated match first.
  5. You reply YES. You get the customer's name, phone number, full address and the job details.
  6. You do the work and collect payment from the homeowner directly. We never touch the customer's money.
  7. You report the collected amount and upload your material receipt. We invoice our 50% of what is left, due within 48 hours of you being paid.

If you do not reply, the appointment moves to the next plumber. Nothing is charged for an appointment you decline, and declining does not penalise you.

Who should not join

We would rather lose a signup than waste your time, so here is the honest list.

Where we do fit well: newer shops with open capacity, plumbers who have just added a second truck and need to keep it moving, seasonal gaps, and anyone who has been burned buying leads that never turned into paid work. Zero cost until you are paid is a very different risk profile from a $600 monthly lead spend.

What we are still building

We would rather you hear this from us than find it out later. Pipe Well Plumbing launched in 2026. We are a young company with a short track record, and coverage is uneven — in some markets we have plumbers ready and in others we are still recruiting. If you are in a market we have not filled yet, you may join and wait a while before the first appointment arrives.

The model itself is not new to us — we have run this same appointment-and-revenue-share structure before bringing it to plumbing, and the dispatch system, the verification process and the payment terms are all built on that experience.

We also only do plumbing. We are not a general home-services marketplace bolting a plumbing category onto a directory, and we do not book work in any other trade. Every appointment we send is plumbing work, matched to a licensed plumber.

Common questions

Is Pipe Well Plumbing a lead generation company?

No. A lead generation company sells contact information, often to several contractors at once, and gets paid whether or not the job books. We send a scheduled appointment to one plumber at a time and get paid only after that plumber has done the work and been paid by the customer.

Do you take a cut of my materials?

No. Documented material costs come off the top before the 50% is calculated, so you recover them in full. The catch is the word documented — without a receipt or supplier invoice they cannot be deducted, and on a $3,200 material bill that mistake costs you $1,600.

What if the customer never pays me?

You owe us nothing. Our share is calculated on money you actually collected. If the homeowner cancels, disappears or disputes the charge and wins, we earn zero on that job and absorb the marketing cost we spent to book it.

Can I leave?

Yes, with seven days' written notice. There is no contract term and no minimum. Appointments you already accepted still carry the revenue share through to collection.

Who owns the customer relationship?

You do the work and build the relationship, but we introduced the customer, and our agreement has a 24-month non-circumvention clause covering work for customers we introduced. We would rather state that plainly here than bury it in the contract.

How many plumbers do you accept per area?

Up to three per service area. The cap exists so the plumbers who join get real volume instead of a token appointment every few months.

Do you operate in my state?

We operate nationwide, but real coverage depends on whether a verified plumber near you has joined. You can apply from any state — set your ZIP and radius and we will match appointments inside it as they come in.
